XII Months Zoo
“XII Months” is a private zoo spread across 16 hectares. It is operating 365 days a year hosting over a hundred species of animals, some of them extremely rare. The idea was to create a relaxed and fun atmosphere to bring the guests closer to the world of wild nature and its lovely creatures.
In the spring months the area got under the occupation and Russian troops drove armored vehicles into the territory of the park. The zoo workers and 350 animals were held hostage. In the cold, without light, gas, and food. For more than a month, seven zoo workers were taking care for the animals with no resoursers from the outside world and saved most of them.
The occupiers since withdrew from the Vyshgorod district, and the zoo was finally liberated. However it is stil in much need of support in order to maintain the animals in these difficult times.
